Victoria ISD issued the following announcement on Dec. 18
Several additional students will be spending the winter break studying spelling, having advanced to the Victoria County Spelling Bee on February 4, 2021.
During the week of December 14-18, four campuses held the campus spelling bee. The following students placed at the top of their respective campus:
| Mission Valley Elementary:
Winner - Maximus Gabbert (5th grade) Runner-Up - Abigail Johnson (4th grade) | Cade Middle School:
Winner - Laney Aiken (8th grade) Runner-Up - Conner Yusko (6th grade) |
| Shields Elementary:
Winner - Benjamin Hawkins (3rd grade) Runner-Up - Landyn Hinojosa (2nd grade) | Howell Middle School:
Winner - Kayleigh Jones (8th grade) Runner-Up - Malaki Mendoza (8th grade) |
The winner from each campus will compete in the Victoria County Spelling Bee on February 4, 2021. The runners-up will also be studying, in the event the winner is unable to participate for any reason.
